These are words of Guy Kawasaki. He is the New York Times bestselling author of “Enchantment” and 11 other books, including “The Art of the Start”.
He’s also a TEDx speaker, a marketing adviser to Motorola, and one of the original Apple employees responsible for marketing the Macintosh.
So basically the short story when it comes to marketing he knows what he’s talking about!
So outbound marketing is effective, we know that for sure here at MarketingRepublic but we also know Inbound Marketing works wonders too!
You see outbound marketing generally has to hit and work.
Whether you are using direct mail, email, telemarketing or any other form of direct response marketing then generally each piece of content has it’s purpose, it’s instantly measurable but after a limited period of time it’s generally gone.
Inbound marketing, otherwise known as attraction marketing tends to have much more longevity. Creating content that is educational, informative, friendly, entertaining and useful and posting this onto a platform that will be around for a long time becomes evergreen. This is content marketing. Obviously this can give a good long term return on investment than an email that is here and gone in a blink.
